Phase I Throwing (Aug. 30 – Sept. 24)

Phase I will include a 4-week throwing progression beginning with low intensity, low effort throwing and an introduction to basic plyo work. This phase will allow young pitchers to wake up their arms with consistent arm care and recovery.

Phase II On-Ramp (Sept. 27 – Nov. 19)

The on-ramp phase is an 8-week period that will consist of three throwing days each week with two recovery days mixed in. This phase will include a plyo progression, arm care and velocity testing at the end of each week. All throwing will be done on a flat surface as this phase is focused on long toss and getting each pitcher familiar with how their body works. The goal is to get the body and arm working as efficient as possible as we prepare for mound work.

Phase III Mound Blend (Nov. 22 – Dec. 17)

The last phase will focus on transitioning pitchers back to the mound as they get closer to practice in preparation for the spring season. Athletes will de-load in the first week (Thanksgiving) to recover from the on-ramp phase. During this time, pitchers will perform a portion of their plyo work on a mound and will begin short bullpen sessions. Each bullpen session will include data collection with Rapsodo and slow-motion video with Edgertronic. With this technology, each athlete will receive quality feedback that will help them adjust while learning a considerable amount spin, shape & movement.
